the electoral volt but romney got the popular vote. i agree that would have been bad. it would have denied the democrat the clear mandate. the implication from the right wing seemed to have been had the republican candidate won the popular vote, there would be trouble of some undefined type. what the heck did that mean? yes, we've had to put up with this ridiculous secession petitions out there, the texas version having been signed by over 100,000 people since election day, but could the right have gone further had it been armed with a popular vote victory? there does seem to be a difference in the two parties. when al gore lost 12 years ago, he ignored his 600,000 vote victory in the popular vote. he just learned to live with the irony. republicans have carefully forgotten this bit of history, but i have real doubts those on the angry demanding right would have been so quietly o beet yebt to constitutional law. there's something out there on the right right now that is still uneasy with this defeat. searching desperately for an explanation of how the conservative caterpillar they had righ

. they are falling for this republican line of crap. republicans lost this election. this was mitt romney's deal. and president obama said we have to have an balanced deal we're going to cut spending to the bone, but you have also got to get rid of those bush tax cuts for the wealthiest of americans, and put it back where it was under president clinton, the greatest economic growth in our lifetime. americans went with president obama's idea. it's now time for republicans to accept this is what the americans want. but instead this is more republican propaganda, and i just kills me that so many of my colleagues in the media are falling for it. republicans are saying we'll break the pledge. who cares. they say they are going to break the pledge, bfd, they say they are going to offer new revenue. okay. sure. but where from? they say will not, no no, no, tax rates for the wealthy of americans. we will not raise taxes on the 1%. we will only accept new revenue from closing loopholes. that means your mortgage interest deduction is history, and your child care deduction is history. t

% of the people did vote for mr. romney and i think what he has to come across at is a very pragmatic individual. that's what americans, i tell you, in pennsylvania that's what we want is a pragmatic approach. step aside from the ideology. when 60% of the budget has to do with entitlements, you know it has to be addressed. then on the other hand, when you have seen the tax rates for the top 1% in the last 50 years has gone down 40%, by the other 99% overall tax rates have remained essentially saying you understand where at least for the first traurj of tax revenues we have to go, but the end of the day we need everyone to do a shared sacrifice and i hope this president with mr. boehner stays the course. we know the bipartisan principle approach that must be done. it is going to take both spending reductions, entitlement reform, and tax quite frankly revenue increases. >> chip, i was also thinking this weekend as i was looking at the numbers this morning about how well they did on black friday and what they're expecting on cyber monday today that it does seem to give the impression that people ar
